Wedding Photography by Master Photographer Ken Sklute
Instructors: Ken Sklute                                                                                Duration: 4 Weeks            Cost: $195            Starts: Sep 12, 2008

With the advent of digital cameras, many people have turned their sights on wedding photography. Whether you are just starting out on your own, or if you shoot for a large studio, or just want to learn how to take dazzling photos of your family and friends special day, let's break out of the box. Join us for this 4 week jammed packed course that will teach you how to take wedding photography to the next level. Instead of settling for all of the traditional approaches to wedding photography, award-winning photographer Ken Sklute will share with you how to come back with remarkable images without controlling or interfering with the wedding day. As photographers we constantly run into problems that can affect the images that we capture, such as no time, little cooperation, bad lighting, challenging locations and even weather. AS a wedding photographer, you must be prepared for anything and ultimately bring home emotional, story-telling imagery and we will teach you how!

We will study all areas of wedding photography during the 4 weeks, including initial planning, line and composition, lens selection (do you know what is considered the "workhorse" lens or that sometimes distortion can be the wedding photographers best friend?), taking the mystery out of photographing groups - both formal and informal shots, digital album design, and especially learning about light!

Light is perhaps the most important element in capturing remarkable wedding images. During our time together, we will study the various forms of lighting and learn when to make use of them. We will learn the correct approach to window light, find dramatic and dimensional open shade techniques, work with fill flash, multiple flashes, work with video and tungsten light sources and creating studio lighting on location.

Beginners, as well as seasoned shooters, will find an easy approach to giving your work a new and refreshing feel in this course. While this course is a must for wedding photographers, all the lessons and techniques can be applied to taking photographs and creating memories of any special occasions including anniversary parties, birthday parties, christenings and holiday gatherings!

Ken brings over 32 years experience to his lessons, using examples of past and present weddings to exemplify how to deal with selecting the correct lens, digital exposure, composition, how to arrange groups, creating a workflow as a foundation of consistency. Ultimately, Ken will share his award-winning techniques for designing contemporary wedding albums.
